Yacht brokerage for Mercer Island, Seattle & Puget Sound

The right boat.
The right next step.

Buy or sell a yacht with Josh Moultray at Mercer Island Yacht Sales.

Whether you’re ready for a different kind of cruising or preparing to pass your boat to its next owner, start with a conversation.

For those who already know Josh and trust his judgment, and for the friends they send his way, Mercer Island Yacht Sales offers a personal point of contact. Tell him what matters to you, and shape the search or sale around your plans.

01 / Buying

Find a yacht
that fits your life.

Weekend escapes, longer passages, or more time with family. Tell Josh how you want to use your boat. He’ll handle the search, research the options and help you make an informed choice.

Picture Lake Washington afternoons, Puget Sound weekends, or longer trips to the San Juan Islands, Roche Harbor, the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound. Start with where you want to go, then find a boat that suits the way you cruise.

Josh can help you purchase almost any boat listed on YachtWorld, including boats listed by other brokerages. Send him a listing that interests you; he can confirm availability and the arrangements for working with the listing broker.

  • A focused search shaped around your plans and budget
  • SoldBoats.com research and comparable sales to evaluate value
  • Coordination of surveyors, inspections and sea trials
  • Help finding a slip for your first boat or a move up in size
  • Guidance through offers, negotiations and closing

A wider search

The right boat.
Wherever it is.

For larger purchases, Josh is happy to travel worldwide with a client to look at any boat. The search can reach well beyond the Pacific Northwest, with travel plans and arrangements discussed together.

One of Josh’s legal clients is MTI Worldwide Logistics, a customs broker specializing in yacht import clearance and worldwide transportation. Whether the right boat is in Florida or elsewhere in the world, MTI can help arrange shipping and, where needed, customs clearance. Josh can make an introduction to discuss the route, logistics and costs.

The person behind the process

Good conversations.
Clear decisions.

Work directly with Josh Moultray.

Josh grew up on Mercer Island, boating with his family in the Salish Sea and San Juan Islands. Time aboard his grandparents’ Tollycrafts became a lifelong interest in boats, cruising, and the systems that make them work.

He formerly worked at Crow’s Nest Yachts alongside industry veterans including Dan Wood and Vic Parcells. That experience, together with his own time as a boat owner, informs a practical approach to buying and selling.

Josh is also a lawyer at Moultray Law. His work in law brings a careful eye to the details, thoughtful questions, and a practical approach to negotiations.

For people who know his experience and value his advice, yacht brokerage is another way to work with Josh directly. Bring your questions, your wish list, or simply an idea of what comes next.

Can you help me buy or sell around Seattle?

Start a conversation with Josh about buying or selling a yacht in Mercer Island, Seattle or the Puget Sound area. Share where you keep your boat or plan to cruise so the conversation starts with your actual plans.

Can Josh help with a boat listed by another broker?

Josh can help you purchase almost any boat listed on YachtWorld, including boats listed by other brokerages. Send him a listing that interests you; he can confirm availability and the arrangements for working with the listing broker.

What should I send when looking for a yacht?

What information helps when selling?

A conversation about your boat and your timing is enough to start. Josh handles comparable-sales research, advises on value, arranges photography and coordinates presentation, enquiries and showings. He’ll guide you through any records or details needed along the way.

Are the recent closings current listings?

No. The 1998 Offshore 58′, 2023 Greenline 48, Tollycraft 37 and Navigator 42 shown above are closed transactions, not current listings. The Pacific Mariner 65′ is listed separately as coming soon. Contact Josh to discuss your search.
